This position will provide leadership and hands-on - business analysis and support services for packaged and/or custom designed systems.  Individual will also work with end users to clearly document processes and procedures, understand business needs, define and document requirements, assist with application/software development, presentations, test system changes, systems implementation, and end-user applications training.   • Minimum two (2) years of experience in the design, testing, implementation and support of new system enhancements and modifications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field. In lieu of degree, minimum three (3) years of experience as a Business Analyst or in similar capacity.
  • Advanced Computer skills in programs such as MS Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in English and Spanish at an advanced level, as position will liaison between end-users, managers, development team, and third party contractors.
  • Ability to read and write at advanced level in a business environment for the writing of detailed requirement specifications.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work within a team or independently, with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors and fellow employees.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.


  • Advanced Computer skills in programs such as MS Excel, and Access, to include programming and troubleshooting in VBA.
  • Prior experience as a Business Analyst in the transportation, shipping, or logistics industry.
  • Certification in Project Management, Business Analysis, or Systems Development Methods.
  • Experience with PowerBI Business Intelligence Reporting.




  • Analyzes business problems and assesses how automated systems can be implemented to solve them.
  • Supports the development of business intelligence reports to support the operations in conjunction with management.
  • Documents strategies and makes recommendations for improvements and systems enhancements
  • Works with business process team members (technical and functional) and subject matter experts (SMEs and End Users) to establish systems specifications and objectives.
  • Creates requirements documentation, project proposals, project plans, cost effectiveness, and provides recommendations to management personnel.
  • Create application using programming tools such as Visual Basic for Applications and PowerBi Tools
  • Acts as liaison between systems software development staff, management and system end-users to define requirements and obtain signoff.
  • Formulates test plans and coordinates and performs software testing
  • Coordinates implementation of the system software, including end-user training of the new system and works with application support personnel to resolve systems problems
  • Assists with troubleshooting and resolving end user support calls.


  • Maintains and updates current Excel business application through VBA code review and development.
  • Keep users informed on tips and techniques that will enhance their use of systems.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Reports to the Business Systems Manager. Does not supervise other staff.
